1930 Model A Ford Custom Built Pickup $ 80.000

Started with a Briggs 1930,s sedan fordor that's how Henry Ford spelled them, these trucks were built tiny back in the 30,s because people were smaller back then ask any grown man that's had to sit in a 1930 pickup with a bench seat . My wife Margie and i wanted an old pickup that we could drive on the city streets and freeway. I have built many cars over my lifetime and this car was the start of the automobile industry but i need to warn you if you dont like attention don,t buy this truck because every where you go older people mainly will bombard you with questions about the truck Costco parking lot is the worst, park some were else. People say take this to the car show ,I say I build cars all day I don't really want a car show with all the damm questions thank you very much. It's like a mechanic works his butt off all week and then on Saturday says maybe ill pull that tranny out of that old beater in the back yard and fix that on my day off cause i don't have any thing else to do (people). Not very good pictures, sorry but i am old my only excuse. Those Rims are powder coated yellow gold,1935 spoked deep dish rims all the way around and the one on the deck lid for a spare. Most of the cars you see on the net that people have chopped up and tired to put back together they just don't ever seem to look rite to me. I am very picky about door jamb space between the post and the door skin 1/8 inch is a show car standard.The model a had a slope to them on the roof, higher in the back so i leveled the posts out over 1 inch in the front and 1 3/4 in the rear and when i arrived at that point and set the roof back on and removed a little more with the cut off wheel, the door posts have oak in them. The first thing i did was cut the back of the fordor sedan these cars came without sheet metal for center of the roof, sometimes it was leather i don't recall the exact size but around 4 feet long and 3 1/2 feet wide you could stand up it them there's also an oak header in these cars in between the front window posts and behind the steel visor that hangs over the windshield the fold out windshield is screwed to it by 1 1/2 inch screws. The original bell housing was pink from so much clean iron, these cars were built when metal was clean, and after building cars for fifty years i notice the decline in all the metal properties.



After removing the oak header I made one from a piece of oak and installed that when i was reassembling the windshield and visor. I could write a 300 page book and barely began to explain what it takes to design and engineer a car so its safe to drive and doesn't fall apart. We have driven this model A twice a week since 2019 its 2 miles to where we shop for food so mileage is low 35 thousand on this 2003 chevy s 10 it was a crate motor. We bought the truck used with the new crate motor in it. I drove a 1965 fastback that i built from the ground up to Texas for a buyer and drove the s10 back home, i pulled all the running gear and complete OBD-2 diagnostics, mini fuse box for all the accessories and the complete fuel injection system and the entire wiring system from the s 10 and installed everything in the Model a. I didn't remove the cab from the frame i wanted the cab to live were it originally was so all the body panels and hood would fit. It was a four door Briggs, so i removed the two rear doors and used then to lengthen the front doors buy eight inches and moved the front door post back to accommodate the new door jamb length . All door panels i had to cut and lengthen, make templates for all the glass out of 3/8 hard board cause model glass is 3/8 of an inch thick from the factory but no tempered glass 96 years ago but we added tempered glass. This car was stored in Bakersfield CA.for 40 years in the desert, no rust anywhere the Henry steel has so much nickel and manganese and chromium in the steel it dosen't rust much. I disassembled the entire model A with a little WD-40, and the bell housing was pink from the clean iron they used to mold the bell housing. I leaned a lot about how the industry has gone down hill and the metal, unbelievably true.
